Services - Fundraising

One of the biggest problems for any charity is effective fundraising. How much to spend on publicity or promotion is always a dilemma, when any overheads will be eating into the net proceeds.

Goffy has had a wealth of experience over 30 years helping organise and promote all kinds of charity fundraising events.

Our skills can help turn your event into a real occasion.

One such major event that Paul was able to help improve was the Greggs Children’s Cancer Run.

Now in its 25th year and held annually at the Gosforth Park Race Course, to date this event has raised £3Million for Children’s Cancer Research in the UK.

Goffy was asked by the committee to discuss how they could raise their ‘low profile’ run into one of the region's best known annual attractions. He quickly stamped his authority on the event, the entries immediately rocketed by 50% and the cash raised for charity increased by a staggering 60%.

images/gofpic023.jpg Goffy's strategy was to link up with international athlete/broadcaster Steve Cram MBE, to raise awareness of the charity run through TV, Radio and the Media. He then made a series of 'fun' radio commercials produced and written by Goffy himself, and voiced with Steve Cram. Steve had a lot of fun getting involved in promoting the big day - here he is pictured with a cardboard cutout of Goffy!

Paul even persuaded Mark Knopfler to let him use the theme to ‘Local Hero’ in the promotion of the run.

The event has never looked back. Goffy was honoured by the Children’s Cancer Run committee for his work. Professor Alan Craft, a world famous surgeon at Newcastle RVI Hospital described Goffy’s marketing and PR skills as first class, when presenting him with his award for hugely raising the event’s profile. Over 12,000 people continue to participate each year.
